Dr. Rajashree Hirlekar (HOD-Pharmaceutics)
A warm welcome to Department of Pharmaceutics. The department offers Master’s and PhD course in Pharmaceutics, apart from basic courses at B. Pharm level.
Department of Pharmaceutics takes into account holistic development of students at Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD courses. At undergraduate level seminars are arranged for orientation of students to various core areas of pharmaceutics and allied courses. Workshops involving the hands-on experience on various equipments and instruments helps in building research abilities amongst students. Interactive session arranged under Vidnyan Manch encourages interactive learning. Disha sessions enlightens the students about the professional opportunities available after completion of the course.
Department has received grants more than 1.5 crores till date. The governmental funding agencies include AICTE: RPS, SERB and University of Mumbai.
Collaborative projects with Industries like Proctor and Gamble, Emami, Gangwal and IMCD have been successfully completed. Department has also accomplished two international collaborative projects on Nanotechnology with University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and University of Lancashire, UK. Currently department has undertaken project on Novel Drug Delivery System in collaboration with Janssen (Belgium), University of Strathclyde and Bombay College of Pharmacy.
The Executive Development Program designed by the department for Industry Executives has been successfully completed by senior industry personnel. Annual lecture series is a unique activity of department wherein speakers from various specialization areas deliver informative lectures.
The total departmental research and review publication are more than 125. Department has to its credit one granted, four published and 2 (provisional) patents. One book and two book chapters are published by the faculties.
